Quick Resume Tips – Never use a hyperlink in your resume

Resume & CV Advice

LinkedIn provides the perfect home for your Social Resume, enabling you to find and leverage professional opportunities. But there is a right and a wrong way to add your link in your resume.

If you want to include your LinkedIn profile address in your resume, it’s better to use the full URL rather than rely on short form or hidden hyperlinks.

For example:

Don’t use:    My LinkedIn Profile

Do Use:       www.linkedin.com/in/markdanielhr

The first link is useless if the resume is ever printed out and is unlikely to work with recruiters or hiring managers software that will be used to screen your resume.

It’s simple. Just use the whole URL whenever possible.

If you still want to use hyperlinks then please check them first.

I have seen two resumes this year with links that go to other person’s LinkedIn profile.
